M.Sc. Psychologist

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Unfortunately, I have no free capacity for new patients until further notice.

I offer psychodynamically oriented psychotherapy ("Tiefenpsychologisch fundierte Psychotherapie"), psychological counseling and coaching not only in German, which is my native language, but also in English, as I believe that being able to express yourself without language restrictions is an important factor for the therapeutic process.

My approach

My psychotherapeutic work follows a depth psychological and intersubjective approach. It is acknowledged that early formative experiences have a significant impact on our present behaviour and way of thinking. My goal as a therapist is to support you through a process that will allow a deeper understanding of yourself, working on your individual issues and recognizing and expanding your coping strategies and strengths. I attach great value to the personal fit between patient and therapist, especially because it is crucial for the success of the treatment. For this reason, an appreciative atmosphere, transparency and authenticity within the working relationship is particularly important to me.

About me

Besides my psychotherapeutic work in my own practice, I had been treating patients with a wide range of disorders in the outpatient psychotherapy department of the Berlin Academy of Psychotherapy for several years. Over the time I have specialized in the treatment of anxiety and depression. Prior to that, I gained several years of practical experience in acute psychiatry as well as in the inpatient department and day clinic for adults at the Vivantes Klinikum Am Urban in Berlin. My work in individual and group therapies benefited in particular from the integration of behavioural and depth psychological approaches. Furthermore, I also got insights in the outpatient psychiatric and day clinic treatment for children and adolescents. Finally, I was enriched by voluntary work, e.g. at Der Steg Neubrandenburg e.V . There I accompanied clients in coaching sessions, individual and couple counseling on the topics of stress and conflict management, crisis management and work-life balance.

What would you like to work on?

Personal crises

Sometimes major life changes or threshold situations are difficult to manage alone. These can be the experience of grief over the loss of a loved person, the start of retirement or interpersonal conflicts. Professional support can be very helpful in such situations.

Depression & bipolar disorder

Depression can have many different faces. It usually manifests itself in a depressed mood and aversion to activity. Often, sleep disturbances, self-esteem problems and feelings of guilt occur. In a bipolar disorder, depressive phases alternate with manic episodes.

Physical complaints

Psyche and body are inseparably connected. It is therefore not uncommon that mental problems express themselves on a physical level, e.g. fibromyalgia, migraine, gastrointestinal diseases, neurodermatitis, bulimia, anorexia, binge eating and obesity.

Burnout & work disorders

In today's meritocratic society, it is more difficult than ever to achieve a healthy work-life balance. People affected often experience increased stress and a feeling of being overwhelmed. One is blocked in completing important tasks (procrastination) and have difficulties to concentrate.

Sexual issues

Although the topic of sexuality affects everyone, it still represents a tabooed topic while its importance is often underestimated. Possible topics in the context of treatment can include disturbances of sexual desire, uncertainties about the sexual identity, orientation and preference.

Anxieties & obsessions

If fear dominates in objectively harmless situations or occurs in excess, it may also affect the quality of life. This can include generalised fears, panic attacks, phobias and hypochondriac anxiety. Furthermore, fears can express themselves in obsessive behaviour or thoughts.
